Lacina Siding & Windows

Custom Animated Display Campaign

I designed and animated a six-size display campaign for Lacina Siding & Windows, turning a detailed, story-based client brief into a short animated ad.

Role: Visual Design · Asset Sourcing · Compositing · Animation · Multi-Format Production
Tools: Adobe Animate · Photoshop · Illustrator

THE CHALLENGE

Turning an ambitious brief into an effective display ad

The client's brief outlined a complete story: a couple searches for windows, discovers Lacina, makes a purchase, and receives their new windows. The challenge was fitting that story into a short animated display ad without losing the client's original idea.

I needed to decide which moments were essential, how to simplify scenes that were too complex for the format, and how to make the story work at several different ad sizes.

Key requirements
Custom animation · Narrative simplification · Legibility at small sizes

THE DESIGN PROCESS

Building the scenes

I started with Lacina's existing branding, then sourced and edited images to help tell the story. I combined stock assets with graphics I created in Photoshop and Illustrator, building scenes that could be rearranged for different ad sizes.

Since the same story needed to work in both tall and wide formats, I had to consider how the characters, backgrounds, and text would fit together before moving into animation.

Brand research · Asset sourcing · Illustration & compositing · Multi-size layout design

THE ANIMATION

Bringing the story to life

I animated the campaign in Adobe Animate, using a continuous sequence rather than a series of disconnected slides. The couple searches for windows, finds Lacina, chooses them for the job, and receives their new windows.

I adjusted the composition, movement, and timing for each ad size so the story remained clear in both narrow and wide formats.

SEARCH → DISCOVERY → PURCHASE → DELIVERY

THE OUTCOME

From brief to finished display set

The completed campaign included six animated ad sizes, each adapted to fit its dimensions without losing the main story. The client approved the campaign, and the ads were put into use.

By simplifying the original brief and adapting the animation across formats, I was able to preserve the client's vision while making it work within the constraints of display advertising.
